In Feng Shui, one of the principle tools used to apply the nine areas of life to a desk, bed, stove, room, home, office or business is the bagua. The nine areas of life include fame and reputation, relationships, career, health, wealth, children and creativity, knowledge, helpful people, and family. There are locations that are preferred when it comes to enhancing these nine areas. Baguas or ba-gua is eight- Gua as a result of the Chinese binary system of the I-ching. When you are aware of the placement of these nine areas, it is easy to zero in on how to adjust the energy so your environment will feel better.
The
best way to use baguas in your life is to find out how to place them on your
space. The front door of a home or business will always fall in one of the
three areas of career, knowledge, or helpful people down at the bottom of
the map. Determine the location of the front door, according to a drawing of
the entire space, and the nine areas of life lay out before you. As shown
above, wealth area is in the far left corner, and the partnership is in the
far right corner and so on. It is very rare if a home or business is built
in a complete square. Sometimes there will be missing pieces and other times
extensions. Extensions are good, missing pieces should be adjusted and
“filled in”. There are tools available to fill in spaces such as
mirrors that energetically move
walls so the square of the bagua is completed. There is no right or wrong
when it comes to the location of specific rooms in a home. If a
bedroom falls in the family area instead
of the partnership area, that’s ok. The bedrooms of the children do not have
to fall into the children and creativity area. Any area can be enhanced or
adjusted to allow more balance and harmony in the space, just follow the
bagua map and experiment.
