Feng Shui Books - Enlighten and Inspire

A Feng Shui Book - Should Provide Common Sense Ideas

Feng Shui books were not easily accessible years ago. Bookstores did not carry information about this ancient Chinese art of placement until recently. This was due to a combination of the West’s lack of interest in Feng Shui and the masters have always taught Feng Shui orally. Today, the shelves are filled with books on the different schools of Feng Shui, using Feng Shui outdoors in the garden, Feng Shui and the office, combining Feng Shui with aromatherapy, Feng Shui and colors, space clearing, Feng Shui for kids and teens, The “Dummies” series, Feng Shui jewelry and fashion, books published in every language, and this is just the tip of the Feng Shui book iceberg.

At the end of my seminars, I handed out a Feng Shui reading list of the books I have enjoyed over the years and/or followed the school of Black Hat Sect Tantric Buddhist Feng Shui, which is what I practice. Here is that list and my review of one of my favorite books.

Linn, Denise. Sacred Space. Ballantine Books. New York. 1995.

Linn, Denise. Feng Shui for the Soul. Hay House, Inc. Carlsbad, California, Sydney, Australia. 1999.

Kingston, Karen. Creating Sacred Space with Feng Shui. Piatkus. 1996.

Rossbach, Sarah and Yun, Lin. Living Color. Kodansha America, Inc. New York. 1994.

Collins, Terah Kathryn. The Western Guide to Feng Shui. Hay House, Inc. Carlsbad, California, Sydney, Australia. 1996.

Hyder, Carole J. Wind and Water: Your Personal Feng Shui Journey. Hyder Enterprises. Minneapolis, MN. 1998.

Book Review

Carole J. Hyder leads you on a path and opens the front door of the fascinating and artful world of Feng Shui.  She invites you to enter her book through interesting descriptions, unique suggestions and common sense tips. Hyder provides an easy reading experience and focuses on all of the areas of concerns many of us experience through different phases of life. Her unique index offers a quick reference for you to zero in on the best place to start your personal Feng Shui journey.

Wind and Water: Your Personal Feng Shui Journey is a great book if you are new to the ideas of Feng Shui, or if you are actively implementing its principles in your daily life. Her section ‘Connecting to Your House’ is an excellent way to bring the past to the forefront and link it to your spaces in the present. She encourages you to feel your home in a way that connects to Spirit and your inner space as well.

Wind and Water: Your Personal Feng Shui Journey is a “must have” as part of your library or to share with friends. Allow this book to flow through your life, inspire, and assist you with achieving your goals.

As a Feng Shui consultant, I have reached for this book more often than any other. It still inspires my work and helps me in everything that I do. I highly recommend it.
