The I Ching - From the Book of Changes

I Ching - A Tool for Personal Growth

The I Ching is the “Book of Changes” and one of the oldest of Chinese texts. At the very heart of the Chinese philosophy and culture is the I Ching. In Chinese culture, everything is about balance and harmony. Feng Shui is no different. Change is inevitable but balance must be maintained. In the West, the I Ching is a method of divination, but in China it is a form of wisdom.

The I Ching symbolism embodies a set of sixty-four line arrangements or hexagrams. These hexagrams are composed of six stacked horizontal lines. Each line is either yin or yang and when they are stacked on top of each other, sixty-four possibilities emerge. These are trigrams and they represent a state, process or method of change. The use of the I Ching is prevalent in Western culture and has influenced artists and businessmen throughout history. Practice using the hexagrams and following the wisdom of change and see what using the I Ching’s wisdom has for you and your life. The roots are ancient and developed in a way to discovering answers that were critical at the time. Working with the I Ching can give you a better understanding to personal growth. Expanding the possibilities of life through the I Ching offers new ways of doing things.
